Dear RCAC families,

 

Twenty years ago, the leadership and participants of Riverside Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) undertook a 2-year intentional process meeting with families of the Riverside community to explore ways in which the church could serve to fulfill a need. That exploration resulted in the opening of the Riverside Children's Arts Center, a ministry of Riverside Avenue Christian Church, in 2005, offering a variety of art classes and eventually camps to help "see kids shine".

 

As we are reminded in Ecclesiastes 3:1 "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven". This month, the leadership of Riverside Avenue Christian Church made the decision to conclude Art Center classes, camps, and operation, at the end of the 2023 Fall term. Subsequently, we will begin and use 2024 as a time to refresh our building, review our mission and our community's current needs, and re-envision the ways we can serve. 

 

We are grateful for the dedication shown by Aimee and the RCAC instructors, George, Arvid and Kate to RCAC over the years.
